One on One Peer Support and Mentoring

Living in the margins of society is difficult enough without having to deal with the ramifications that living a marginalized lifestyle causes, such as mental, physical and emotional health issues.

Like a cut rose laying on the street, marginalized individuals often feel helpless in our society, waiting for someone to pick them up and put them into a glass of water so that they may live a little longer.

Peering Your Peers believes that in empowering the marginalized population you greatly increase their drive and desire to improve their level of living. [Nina Wallerstein (1992) Powerlessness, Empowerment, and Health: Implications for Health Promotion Programs. American Journal of Health Promotion: January/February 1992, Vol. 6, No. 3, pp. 197-205]

If you find that you or someone who you know needs assistance in finding, claiming and using their strengths and abilities in order to empower themselves than take the first step and contact Peering Your Peers.

I take my personal experiences living as a marginalized individual and my journey of empowerment in order to provide you the support you need to start your own journey. I do not ‘push’ or ‘force’ anyone to do anything, I do provide support in making positive decisions and give guidance as to where to start or what the next step should be.

Remember that nobody or no thing can, or should, control your life but you. Take back the power and control. Become someone. Hold your head high, not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well.

Contact me and lets start your journey of empowerment today.

Throughout our lives our paths cross those of many others….

If you work for a nonprofit organization then you know that a variety of people with a variety of backgrounds continuously come through the door.  Each of these individuals has skill sets and abilities that could be of assistance to either your organization or someone else involved in your organization. Peering Your Peers helps in identifying those skill sets and, if the individual is willing to volunteer their time and services to your organization, place that volunteer accordingly. In not doing so nonprofit organizations are overlooking or mishandling one of their most cost-effective and valuable resources. In order to ensure that all aspects of cost savings are explored and that your volunteers and clients feel like they are invaluable, there must be a comprehensive list of your volunteers and/or clients abilities and skill sets. Doing so does take time but in the end is well worth the money and effort as you find the resources internally that allow you to expand your impact as you strive to fulfill your mission. Sometimes this means creating new Peer Initiatives that will allow for the use of those skill sets and abilities, other times if involves redeveloping already existing programs or initiatives to allow for the use of these newly identified assets.

Contact me and let me show you how your organization can to obtain growth through resources already at your fingertips.
