I stare at a blank page

Not just any blank page

But this blank page

I wish it would fill itself

So I could see the wonders that it desired to impart

To see pictures painted so vividly in my mind

So bold yet so subtle, lacey and ornate

Delicately patterned after any form the writer chooses

Yet powerful enough to weather the ebb and fro of the tides of life

As the waves of societal change endlessly crash on around it

To watch as the brush puts another stroke on the paper

Making it glisten, alive with color

Red, Green, Yellow and Purple.

The colors dance vividly across the paper

Lost in a world all their own

Inviting, enticing, drawing you into its myriad of colors, patterns, shapes and sizes

This power of movement, captured so eloquently is done so effectively

Using only the power of words.
